On this special day, every store is filled with a circus of dressed-up diners, a black-and-white-spotted tribute to cows everywhere. Whether it’s t-shirts, hats, or full-out costumes, people take this day very seriously. About 1.95 million people participate in Cow Appreciation Day. That’ll save a lot of cows!
Just for fun, we did the math:
- There are an estimated 4,500 quarter-pound hamburgers in a cow. (Weird to think about, eh?)
- If 1.95 million people choose chicken for their meal on Cow Appreciation Day instead of having beef, that means 434 cows are spared on just on this one day alone.
As you may know, Solink loves to support our clients, and we’ve got many Chick-fil-A restaurants using our software. Even though there’s no Chick-fil-A here in Canada yet, we didn’t want to miss out on the costumed fun. So here at Solink, we decided to participate!
First things first, we had a crafting lunch and all made cow ears. With a couple of packs of construction paper and a couple of lessons, we soon had everyone learning a new skill: how to cut out perfect cow appendages.
Next up, time to dress the part. Everyone knew that cow print is the Mooo-st popular look of the season. Everyone was excited to get their very own Solink cow-print shirt. Of course, our enthusiastic CEO had to one-up everyone by arriving in his very avante-garde onesie.
Then came time for face paint! We had a few people go all out with some cow spots to really bring the look together.
While we couldn’t get to a Chick-fil-A to collect our free chicken, we had a blast participating. We love to remind our clients that we’re always with them–even if it’s just in spirit–and especially on their busiest day of the year! Maybe next year we’ll figure out how to carpool a hundred cow-costumed Solink team members across the border for a sandwich!
