The Solink team was honored to be awarded an Employee’s Choice Award this year. We were proud to be named alongside some of Ottawa’s best and brightest companies.
The Employee’s Choice Award process is intensive; unlike many awards that are determined via a closed committee, this particular award selection process involves an in-depth survey of a company’s staff to get confidential and honest feedback on the workplace. This process leads to an evaluative report that is shared with each company to help them determine strengths and weaknesses that will further improve their business.
“Feedback and communication is a huge part of why Solink is such a positive workplace,” says Erin Bailey, Human Resources Manager at Solink. “We’re really striving to evolve our culture to the needs of our growing team.”
And ‘growing team’ truly does define Solink, which has grown by 400% in the last 16 months. Managing to keep the working culture stable and healthy is a crucial and difficult task for any company experiencing exponential growth. “As our team grows and becomes more diverse, we want to make sure the culture and environment fits the needs of our people.”
Solink tweeted out this month that we have also reached 20 female employees, meaning that 1/3 of their workforce is now female–what Solink’s CFO Cory Mykalyshyn calls, “A good start.” The women of Solink held an informal lunchtime gathering to celebrate reaching 20.
“It’s been great to watch our teammates actually help mold and shape Solink’s culture,” says Bailey. “Our people work towards a shared vision, not just for our product, but also for our workplace.”
