This week, it has been reported on Solink Recording Device forums that several users have been attacked by a new ransomware (named Deadbolt). The primary attack vector seems to be for Solink Recording Devices that are exposed to the internet (port-forwarding).

Solink Recording Device is a valued Solink partner. We work closely with Solink Recording Device’s engineering team to ensure we have full visibility of any published and unpublished vulnerabilities. We utilize the security and alerting capabilities of our devices with up-to-date anti-malware engines and scanners.

Solink’s access is outbound only – customers place our solution behind their firewall and only allow outbound access to our servers. If you have a standard network firewall, any of your devices within your network, including Solink Recording Devices, cannot be scanned from outside your corporate network.

As an additional precaution, it is generally best practice to isolate all physical security devices on a separate subnet.

We recognize that trust begins with transparency. Our customers expect us to be trustworthy partners, and it is our team’s commitment to earn this trust every day and in all our business activities.

If you have any questions regarding security, please email us at [email protected] at any time.
