How Driven Brands uses AI vision intelligence to verify vendor work and reduce facility costs

At a glance

Customer: Driven Brands, supporting facility maintenance for Take 5 Oil Change and Auto Glass Now locations.

Challenge: Managing issues across a large number of locations in multiple states made it difficult to verify vendor work, investigate escalations, and know when an on-site service call was necessary.

Solution: Solink gives the facilities team remote access to video, AI-driven zone monitoring, and centralized visibility across locations.

Results: Driven Brands has identified vendor overbilling, disputed inaccurate invoices, reduced unnecessary service costs, and improved maintenance decisions across its network.

The challenge: Managing facility maintenance without being at every location

Taylor Zimnock manages facility maintenance for Driven Brands’ Take 5 Oil Change and Auto Glass Now locations. When a shop has a problem, her job is to resolve it quickly so the location can continue to operate.

Across a large network, that isn’t always easy. Prior to Solink, vendor verification was a particular challenge. Contracted services such as snow removal happen across many locations in multiple states, and the team needed a reliable way to confirm that the work described on an invoice had actually been completed.

The solution: Using remote video and AI to verify work and investigate issues

Solink gives Taylor remote access to video across Driven Brands locations, allowing her to investigate issues without being physically present.

She also uses Solink’s AI-driven zone capabilities to monitor specific areas and verify vendor activity. For snow removal in Wisconsin, for example, Taylor can review the relevant zones on video and confirm whether a snowplow serviced the property as invoiced.

That gives the facilities team visual evidence to validate completed work, question inaccurate charges, and make informed  decisions before approving invoices.

Taylor also follows the Solink product roadmap to identify new facility maintenance use cases.

Two key areas she’s excited to explore with Solink include:

  • Reducing emergency access costs: Remote access control could help the team lock or unlock a location without calling an emergency locksmith, especially when an employee leaves the company or forgets a key.
  • Checking temperature conditions before dispatching support: Remote temperature monitoring could help Taylor confirm whether a room meets OSHA regulations for heating or cooling before sending a technician.

“If someone’s escalating something or I need to double-check something, I can log in remotely and find any answer that I need.”

The results: Lower costs, better visibility, and a partnership that supports continued improvement

Solink has helped Driven Brands identify discrepancies between vendor invoices and the work actually completed.

“Nine times out of ten, they’re overcharging us. That Solink capability is catching that, and we’re able to dispute that invoice, which is leading to a lot of savings.”

By reviewing video before approving charges or dispatching support, the facilities team can verify contracted work, dispute inaccurate invoices, investigate issues remotely, and avoid unnecessary site visits and service calls.

For Taylor, the relationship with Solink is just as important as the technology.

“We have a team that’s very invested in our success and is a true partner in us succeeding in every aspect.”

With remote visibility, AI-driven verification, and a product roadmap that continues to support new facility use cases, Solink helps Driven Brands control costs, resolve issues faster, and keep its shops running
