How StorQuest Self Storage uses Solink to simplify multi-location security management

At a glance

Customer: William Warren Group, doing business as StorQuest Self Storage.

Challenge: Acquired and managed facilities came with different camera systems, forcing the security team to learn multiple platforms and walk on-site managers through  footage review and troubleshooting over the phone.

Solution: Solink gives authorized team members remote access to video across locations, making it easier to investigate incidents, support managers, and share security responsibilities.

Results: StorQuest can review footage without traveling to a facility and reduce demands on busy site managers, while exploring AI-driven monitoring to filter unnecessary alerts.

The challenge: Managing multiple security systems without consistent remote access

As Security Systems Administrator for William Warren Group, Mason Friday oversees security cameras and access control across StorQuest Self Storage locations. His responsibilities include installations, system maintenance, and helping managers review footage.

The primary challenge for StorQuest was that many acquired or managed facilities already had their own camera systems. This left Mason’s team supporting up to eight different platforms across the company’s portfolio.

Without consistent remote access, troubleshooting often meant calling a manager and walking them through the process over the phone, asking them to send photos, or joining a video call.

Incident investigations were even more difficult. Someone had to be physically present at the facility to search through the footage, placing additional demands on managers who were already running busy locations.

“If there was an incident on a site, you had to be physically there to look through the footage.”

The solution: Centralizing remote video access and simplifying investigations

Solink gives Mason and other authorized team members the ability to access footage remotely and work through issues themselves. Instead of trying to describe each step over the phone, with Solink Mason can review video directly or show managers exactly what they need to do.

Remote access also makes it easier to delegate investigations. If a site manager does not have time to search through footage, a district manager or another member of the security team can take over without disrupting operations at the facility.

“Now, the district manager can look at it, or I can look at it. Somebody else can comb through the footage without needing to bother the manager on-site.”

Mason is also interested in using AI Agents to improve overnight monitoring. Some facilities have older analog cameras that produce significant visual noise, causing hundreds of motion alerts in a single night.

Rather than relying only on motion triggers, an AI Agent could review activity and determine which events should be sent to the alarm-monitoring team.

The results: Faster investigations, less pressure on managers, and more manageable overnight alerts

With remote access, StorQuest no longer needs someone to be physically present at a facility every time footage must be reviewed.

Security investigations can be shared across site managers, district managers, and the central security team, helping the business respond faster without adding more work to busy on-site employees.

The approach also gives Mason’s team a more practical way to support locations, allowing them to:

  • Review incidents remotely
  • Troubleshoot systems without lengthy phone calls
  • Delegate footage searches across the organization
  • Reduce reliance on individual site managers
  • Improve consistency across locations with different legacy systems

Looking ahead, Mason sees AI-driven overnight monitoring as an opportunity to reduce false or unnecessary alerts and help the alarm monitoring team focus on the events that actually require attention.

“It’ll lessen their workload and make it easier for them to manage what’s coming in.”
